Past Projects

We have been creating VR since 2015, there's a lot of different projects and this is just a sample. We've published applications and games, we have created custom content and much much more. If you don't see what you're looking for drop us a note chances are we've got experience in what you do want.

VR Crane Training

Our Virtual Reality Crane Training Simulator is an excellent way to immerse trainees in a physics driven, real world scenario training environment with no risk to equipment or personnel.

The system has a training zone and a testing zone where each participant can be tracked, scored and evaluated. With variable wind and wave effects that can be controlled by the trainer to provide an added level of realism.

VR Rigger Training

Our continuous development of VR Training Modules has again provided another first. VR Rigger training.

The VR Rigger training module is a fully immersive environment that is reflective of our VR Crane Operator training module.

This allows the trainee to go from being on the deck working as a rigger, to in the cab of the crane moving the loads.

VR Hazard Awareness

Our VR Hazard Awareness offshore experience puts the trainee in an offshore environment where they have to explore the full rig, looking for and tagging hazards. A measurable, competitive and engaging environment.

VR Land Rig Identification

We were asked by a local college to build a virtual reality land rig identification simulator to help students identify the different components on a land rig. The user is provided a clipboard, and transported to different stages within a land rig and, the user will have to point and click on the components that match the list on the clipboard.

VR Fire Extinguisher

Our Patent Pending VR Connected Fire Extinguisher.

This extinguisher is tracked in the real world with its movements related back into the Virtual World. The Trigger is functioning and connected to the Virtual Reality environment.

We have CO2, Water, Foam and Powder simulations that can all be used to tackle fires.

This is a safe, engaging and real 4D VR Fire Fighting simulator.

Fire Safety Simulation

TANTRUM Lab has created a fully immersive Virtual Reality Oil Rig. Within the Experience you fly in on a helicopter, and go through fire safety training.

This full scale remodeling of the Shell Perdido Rig in The Gulf of Mexico offers real-time, and recordable feedback system. Making it a true reflection of the actual rig.

Navigate the Rig and learn where the real fire extinguishers are, where the different operation rooms are located, and the best way to get there, all before setting foot on the real thing.

LAGCOE VR Rig Walkthrough

In 2018, TANTRUM Lab built a virtual reality rig simulation for the LAGCOE exhibit booth. The simulation allowed users to virtually walkthrough an offshore rig that explained the different components on an offshore rig with a small write up, videos and, photos.

Augmented GPS

Do you know what's under the ground beneath your feet? Well we can. Using GPS enabled devices, we can project objects to your screen in 1:1 scale. Making them appear on your device just as they would in the real world, in the same spot they are in the real world.

Aerobotics AR

Ever wanted to fly a drone? Well what about a DJI S100+ quadcopter? Again, using AR technology the drone, not only appears as if it exist in the real world through your your smart-device, but you can actually control this one.

VR Quarterback Training

The VR Quarterback & Receiver Training is for coaches looking to get an advantage over the opposition.
If you coach a Quarterback or set of Receivers then this is for you. The system will allow you to work with your athletes without the need for the entire team to be present.

Key features:
  • YOUR Playbook
  • NO Wires
  • NO Computers
  • Simple & Portable
  • Coach controlled playbook tablet
  • Fully integrated database
  • Naked Hand Tracking
  • Real world VR Plays with scoring
  • Computer generated "Live" plays

MENTAL REPETITIONS: If your players know the play, they've seen the routes and the know what is about to happen they will perform better.
Here's a link to our research into the Psychology of Learning (Hint, humans learn by doing)

Your season and time with your players has been condensed, this is the very solution that will allow you to come out of the tunnel FULLY PREPARED

AR Projects

We created a whole range of different Augmented Reality projects over the years. The vast majority were focused on using a cell phone either as the viewing screen or as in insert for a simple VR Headset device.

The very, very early days.

Talk to Elliot our Founder, long enough and he'll tell you this is where it all started.
A set of Go Pro cameras, a 3D printed holder, a race car, an iPhone 6 and an idea.

Be sure to ask him about everything that went wrong!

You read this far?

So if you really did read all the way down then you have a genuine interest in the work we're doing and we would love to hear from you. Please book a time for Elliot to give you a call, he'd love to hear what you're thinking and how VR could help you in your business.
